Canada vs Wales
Kickoff: 12pm, Saturday 30th August
Venue: Salford Community Stadium
Watch on: BBC TWO
These two sides are coming into this game in very different places. Canada were impressive in a dominant win over Fiji whilst Wales were swept aside in the second half by their bitter rivals, leading to a devastating defeat. Kevin Rouet has selected a strong side to secure a victory that would practically guarantee a place in the quarter-finals. The Welsh will need to pull off a historic victory to keep their chances alive.
Rouet has made 4 changes, with two in the front row and one more in the pack. It is otherwise, a consistent team with the same threats that destroyed Fiji. Julie Schell will be looking to repeat her 6-try performance against Fiji and is definitely capable of doing so again.
Sean Lynn has been understandably ruthless with his team selection and has made 7 changes, including 6 in the pack. The entire front row has been changed as well as three players in the tight five. Alex Callender is the biggest name to miss out and is replaced by Georgia Evans. The back line is mostly unchanged and is still full of players like Jasmine Joyce-Butchers and Nel Metcalfe who are both capable of scoring tries out of nowhere which will keep Wales in the game.

The Scots find themselves in an advantageous position coming into this game, having already won their big game against Wales. Given that Canada await in the final game, Scotland will know that a win is needed against Fiji to get through the pool stage. The speed of their play and dominance at the breakdown, which won the game against Wales, should create enough distance between the teams to the point the Scotland can win the game at a canter.
Fiji has made 4 changes to the side that lost 65-7 to Canada and will be hoping that the changes across the backs will inject some speed and power into the XV. Both wingers, and the outside centre, have been changed in response to some tricky defensive moments that allowed Julie Schell to score 6 tries. The likes of Fran McGhie, who scored a hat-trick in the first round, will be looking forward to the opportunity to get after this Fijian defence.
