Ellis Genge 5.5
A solid game generally, but was penalised a couple of times at the scrum. Furlong's replacement, Finley Bealham, got the better of him.
Luke Cowan-Dickie 5.5
Another average performer who was okay on the day but didn't stand out. The line-out was mostly solid but he added little else.
Will Stuart 6
Another decent game for Stuart in the England front row, he was the best England front-rower on the day and is still solidly in the 3 Jersey.
Maro Itoje(C) 7
A first game as captain could have gone better from a results stand point but Itoje played well individually and did what he could to pull his team through. A commendable effort, even if it was in vain.
George Martin 6
A solid game but was unable to dominate in his "enforcer" role within the team.
Tom Curry 7.5
One of England's best players on the day. He was everywhere across the defence and made a couple of good carries as well.
Ben Curry 7
Played well in a dynamic back row, made some good tackles. Solid, if unspectacular.
Ben Earl 6.5
He has struggled find the same form that saw him burst onto the international seen when Borthwick took charge. Today was another day with flashes but no dominance. He made a couple of good line breaks with intelligent runs but otherwise didn't make much impact.
Alex Mitchell 5.5
A rough return to the test level for Mitchell who was a little out of sorts. He had mixed success with the boot and missed a couple of costly tackles that he should've made.
Marcus Smith 7
He continues to be England's first choice and is repaying the faith placed in him. His move to fullback when Fin Smith came on brings up questions for the France game but he is best placed in his natural position of fly-half.
Cadan Murley 5
A debut of peaks and troughs for the Harlequin. He scored early on and got an assist late in the game but also showed significant vulnerability in the kicking game. He twice made a hash of long kicks. The first time, he failed to gather a kick but touched it so couldn't let it bounce out the back and had to try to run the ball out which failed. The second, he failed to ground the ball quickly enough despite having adequate time and was subsequently brought back into the pitch and then unceremoniously dumped into touch for an Irish turnover.
Henry Slade 7.5
One of his best games in a while. An assist for the Murley try and a solid game overall earn Slade a 7.5 rating.
Ollie Lawrence 8
Possibly his best game in an England shirt. He finally started to make the impactful carries that he does for Bath which became a vital part of the England attack.
Tommy Freeman 6.5
Made a big impact early on but faded during the game. He seemed to make less of an impact than usual but was still solid.
Freddy Steward 6.5
A solid performance. He attempted to run back a lot of Irish kicks but was unable to gain much ground when doing so.
Theo Dan 5
Dodgy line-out and made minimal impact.
Fin Baxter 6
Solid at the scrum when he came on.
Joe Heyes 6
Stabilised the scrum alongside Baxter.
Ollie Chessum 6.5
Made some positive impacts and a couple of mistakes but was generally a good presence for the team.
Chandler Cunningham-South 6
Brought physicality but also ill-discipline
Tom Willis 6
showed glimpses of carrying ability but didn't get enough of a chance.
Harry Randall 6
Struggled when he first came on but was crucial in England's two late tries to earning a losing bonus point.
Fin Smith 7
Looked good when he came on. Rose to the challenge and took the bull by the horns when carrying into big contact willingly.
