Prem Rugby Round 18 Headlines

At the end of the 18-round season we are left with four contenders: Northampton, Bath, Exeter, and Leicester. After a lot of drama and speculation the top four is as it has been for most of this calendar year. Northampton and Bath have clung on to home semi-finals whilst Leicester and Exeter held off Bristol and Saracens. This leaves us with Northampton hosting Leicester on Friday night and Bath hosting Exeter on Saturday afternoon. Those are brilliant quarter-finals that hopefully won't be too overshadowed by the World Cup starting. Northampton versus Leicester is a direct clash with Canada's opening game which is against Bosnia.

Prem Rugby Round 17 Headlines

Since Saracens picked up their form, their round 18 visit to Sandy Park has been highlighted as a pre-playoff eliminator. Bristol were also in contention for 5 after their 21-19 win over Bath on Friday night. However, Saracens and Exeter both then won and thus eliminated Bristol from contention. This leaves a two-horse race which will be won and lost on Saturday afternoon. Exeter needed to bounce back after their shock defeat to Harlequins and did so brilliantly to hand Leicester a rare home defeat. Saracens beat Harlequins, as was expected, and will provide a real test for the Chiefs. Saracens still possess an an unmatched level of experience in this moments so Rob Baxter and Henry Slade will have to quickly get the less experienced Chiefs onto the correct page.

Prem Rugby Round 15 Headlines

Going into this round of games, Leicester and Exeter had a comfortable lead over Bristol and Saracens for the final playoff spots. After last weekend, Bristol are in the top 4 and Saracens have taken a leap closer to Leicester after beating the Tigers at home. The next round of games will see Leicester visit Northampton, Exeter visit Bath and Saracens and Bristol playing each other. There is a very realistic scenario in which Saracens emerge from that round as the only victor amongst the 4 teams and find themselves just a couple of points outside the playoff places.
