WInners and Losers from Scotland 35-29 Wales

Winners

Huw Jones

Jones was dangerous once again. He made multiple line breaks and was deadly throughout. Jones has now surely made himself the favourite for the Lions 13 jersey this summer.

Jac Morgan

Another player who is doing himself a lot of favours in terms of Lions selection. Morgan was everywhere in this game and was a constant thorn in the side of Scotland. He took advantage of Scotland's vulnerability at the breakdown and stifled their attack giving Wales a route back into the game.

Ben White

The Scottish scrum-half ran the game well. He kept Scotland attacking at a great pace, managed the game well and kept Wales guessing. He is putting himself in contention for a place as the third scrum-half in the Lions Squad.

Losers

Gregor Townsend

This was a in for Scotland, which means that Scotland can still technically win the tournament, but the manner of the win means that pressure has not been lifted on Townsend. Even with a win against France, which seems massively unlikely, this will probably go down as yet another SIx Nations that Scotland will look back on with regrets.

Gareth Anscombe

Anscombe has been a key piece of the Welsh resurgence but didn't have his best game against Scotland. FIn Russell was back to his usual level and outclassed Anscombe quite easily. The starting 10's performance was made more obvious by his replacement, Jarrod Evans, coming on and getting Wales going in attack. Anscombe will probably start against England but Evans has definitely closed the gap.

Tom Rogers

The young winger had a bit of a come-down from his try-scoring performance against Ireland. He failed to make an impact in the game and was out-matched by Van der Merwe on many occasions. With a few wingers breathing down his neck for a place in the team, it will be interesting to see if Sherratt will back the youngster once again. The same logic could apply to Blair Murray given some of his defensive frailties that were exposed by the Scots.
